A one-stop shop fostering community and social development in the Upper Clutha region. Information and advice, community social work and the satellite office for numerous statutory organisations.
Volunteers collect meals at Elmslie House and deliver them to elderly clients.
Drivers are rostered on for a week at a time every two months. Delivery of up to 15 meals takes about an hour from 11.45am. Volunteers can either be on a roster, 1 week approximately every 2 months or make themselves available as Relief Drivers.
Located in Wanaka
A professional image and the ability to work unsupervised. An ability to communicate with clients, simply, clearly and with patience. Knowledge of the local community. A current driver’s license. Awareness of, and empathy for, the feelings and needs of those who are less advantaged. A sense of humor. The ability to deal with many different types of people. A high level of honesty and confidentiality. Flexibility to be on call if necessary. Drivers are required to have a Police check which is carried out by Community Networks.
