Event and Facility General Assistance - Course Marshal
The Wanaka Dash is an obstacle course event that will be raising funds for Wanaka LandSAR and volunteers are required to man certain parts of the course to ensure participants navigate the course correctly. The event is set for Sunday 27 October.
Volunteers will be paired up and assigned a certain location on the course to direct participants doing the obstacle course so that they manage the obstacles and follow the course correctly and safely. They will be required to contact the event organiser in the case of a participant injuring themselves so that the first aid responders can respond if required.
Located in Wanaka at Glendhu Station, Glendhu Bay.
The event takes place on Sunday 27th October 2019 and volunteers are needed between 8am to 1:30pm.
No specialist skills are required. Volunteers should be reliable and friendly and happy standing for a number of hours.
Volunteers should wear comfortable and warm clothing and good footwear suitable for off road functionality - running shoes or hiking boots.
Volunteers will be briefed on what they need to do during the course of the event.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet other volunteers, get out in the fresh air and gain personal satisfaction helping people navigate and complete the Wanaka Dash. Funds raised will be donated to Wanaka LandSAR so volunteers all contribute to this money being raised.
