Sports / Community Event - Air New Zealand Queenstown International Marathon
The Air New Zealand Queenstown International Marathon is a running festival incorporating 42km, 21km, 10km and 2.2km kids run options. Set between the backdrop of the world renowned Crown and Remarkable mountain ranges and taking in the best highlights of the Queenstown Lakes region, including Millbrook Resort, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes, Shotover River, Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Gardens and finishing in the heart of Queenstown itself.
Skyline Volunteers are what make an event, and each and every athlete hugely appreciates the amazing work done by our Skyline volunteer Crew!
We will need heaps of awesome, helpful, energetic, friendly Skyline volunteers to be a part of the event too and add to the event experience for everyone. Dates required range from Wednesday 13th November to Sunday 17th November 2019.
Our Skyline volunteer roles vary from pre event setup, to race day support and post event pack down.
Located in Queenstown and surrounding areas.
Race day is Saturday November 16th when the majority of volunteers will be required.
If you can't help on the day itself there are plenty of other roles available before and after race day.
Volunteers from all walks of life are welcomed. You should be reliable, friendly and enthusiastic.
We are working hard to ensure you will have a great experience in return for donating your valuable time to the event. You will have the opportunity to meet new people, have an enjoyable experience, gain an insight into sports events, be part of a great team of volunteers, gain satisfaction from seeing your help benefit others and the wider community and hopefully get a big warm fuzzy glow from knowing that without you the event wouldn't have taken place!
The Queenstown Trails Trust is the Official Charity behind the Air New Zealand Queenstown International Marathon, focused on creating a world class trail network for walking and cycling. The Queenstown Trail is part of Nga Haerenga – the New Zealand Cycle Trails and is billed as a New Zealand Great Ride. The trail covers 110kms of diverse terrain back-dropped by outstanding mountain ranges and connects three main hubs – Central Queenstown, historic Arrowtown and Gibbston – Valley of Vines. It crosses three major rivers, the Shotover, Kawarau and the Arrow, and tracks follow alongside both Lake Wakatipu and Lake Hayes. Every entry to the marathon helps raise funds for the Trust.
Every volunteer receives a Skyline Gondola Annual Pass (and a t-shirt), in return for their volunteering efforts.
