Support Services - Seniors - Driver - delivery of hot meals

Organisation Summary:

Meals on Wheels in the Wakatipu delivers meals to the elderly in our community to ensure those unable to cook for themselves receive a hot meal Monday - Friday. 

Tasks:

Volunteers are required to help delivery hot meals to approximately 10 elderly people. Volunteers pick up meals from Frankton Hospital on the day of your delivery at 11.45. The meals and the list of people are ready at the hospital. Drivers then deliver meals to homes on the Queenstown Run or the Arrowtown run taking about 1 hour.

A coordinator of the scheme is also being sought (November 2017) to either manage the rosta or to assist. Full details available to those interested.

Located in Queenstown and Arrowtown.

Time Committment:

Volunteers are required for around an hour a day. Meals are delivered Monday - Friday but volunteers can choose a day to drive that suits them.

Skills Required:

Volunteers need to have a current drivers licence, their own vehicle and a smile. Volunteers should also be well presented, friendly and personable.

Skills Gained:

We hope volunteers will gain satisfaction from helping in the elderly in their community.
