Kahu Youth Trust

Yard Work / Gardening - Kahu Youth - Gardener

Organisation Summary:
Kahu Youth offers all youth of the Upper Clutha region opportunities for positive events, activities, programmes and support.  The youth workers provide organised, directed activities/events on a regular basis for youth aged 11-24 while incorporating a wide range of members of the local community.  They also provide positive channels through which young people may achieve success and gain recognition.  They advocate and encourage a voice for local youth.

Kahu Youth are looking for a volunteer gardener to help keep their grounds tidy in central Wanaka. This would involve very simple lawn mowing, weedeating and hedge trimming etc - time commitment would average out to a couple of hours a fortnight but can be done as and when needed.

Time Commitment:
Flexible - can be carried out in peace and quiet during the day or at times when the youth are there. Commitment estimated at a few hours a fortnight.

Located in Wanaka

Skills Required:
A willingness to help out and some knowledge of gardening would be useful. If volunteering at times when the youth are there volunteers should be happy communicating with young people.

Skills Gained:
Volunteers will gain satisfaction from seeing their efforts blossom - literally! We hope volunteers will enjoy imparting their knowledge of gardening to the young people and enjoy their company if volunteering side by side.
