Financial Management - Treasurer

Organisation Summary:

Our goal is to foster an environment in Wanaka in which all members of the community are empowered to make healthy choices around the use of drugs and alcohol. We aim to develop of a strategic plan to reduce alcohol related harm. This plan will be informed partially by the research we have just undertaken of Mount Aspiring College students. It will be likely to include education initiaives aimed at engaging and informing the community.
Projects may include organising the finances for our "On the same Wavelength" speaker series, research program, or other initiatives that may come out of that research.


Keeping track of the chequebook and bank statements, creating a cashbook / spreadsheet to track money coming in an out (which is basically just reconciling with the statements). Then when payments need to be made, organising signatures and payments and recording this. Also reporting back to the Wanaka Alcohol Group at the monthly meetings.

Located in Wanaka.

Time Commitment:

A few hours per month. Ideally volunteers should be available for a minimum of 6 months.

Skills Required:

Familiarity with basic accounting processes and an understanding of reconciliation of statements. Knowledge of spreadsheets would be useful.

Skills Gained:

Training of the processes involved and support in use whenever required. We hope volunteers will enjoy being part of this community group in Wanaka, get to meet new people and develop new skills.
