Organisation Summary:
Kahu Youth offers all youth of the Upper Clutha region opportunities for positive events, activities, programmes and support. 

The youth workers provide organised, directed activities/events on a regular basis for youth aged 11-24 while incorporating a wide range of members of the local community.  They also provide positive channels through which young people may achieve success and gain recognition.  They advocate and encourage a voice for local youth.

Tasks:
Kahu Youth is looking for two Trustees to join their Board. This highly valued and important support group for our youth is growing and evolving to reflect the growth in the Upper Clutha community.

The Trust has some really exciting plans moving forward and is looking for locals keen to help in the governance of taking Kahu Youth to the next level in it's development. You will be involved in the community and be a part of ensuring that all our local youth have a voice and are supported through their adolescent years. 

Time Commitment:
Time commitment is approx 4-5 hours per month.

This role is located in Wanaka

What we expect of you:
Knowledge of the community and or the services Kahu Youth provide.
To be able to analyse information and, when necessary, challenge constructively.
Understand the importance and purpose of Trust meetings, and be committed to preparing for them adequately and attending them regularly.
To be able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive and confidential information.
Be committed to the purpose, objects and values of the organisation.  

What you can expect in return:
Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain an insight into event organisation, gain new practical skills and we hope will gain satisfaction from being involved with the future development of Kahu Youth.
