Front Desk Assistant Position Description, Tri-Cities Region

The Immigrant Settlement & Integration Program (ISIP) helps immigrants, and their families to learn about Canada's systems and services. We offer opportunities for immigrants to develop English language skills, learn about Canada's labor market, develop professional and social networks, and settle into their local B.C. communities. ISIP services are for eligible immigrants, refugees and their families and are free of charge. Our services are offered in many languages.
Work location: 2058 - 1163 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, BC
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Desk support
- greeting walk-in clients and visitors
- answering phone, directing calls
- helping clients register for workshops, classes or events
- promoting programs and services
- assisting Program Assistants with administrative tasks when needed
Time Commitment and Schedule: 4 hours per week, a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Shifts occur Monday-Friday between 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 5pm
Qualifications Required:
- Intermediate Level of English or above
- 19 years or older
- Must be willing to conduct a criminal record check
- Customer service experience (preferred) Personal Traits/ Qualities Desired:
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, welcoming, patient, and an attentive listener.
Orientation and Training Provided:
- General orientation to S.U.C.C.E.S.S
- Specific orientation to the volunteer position
