Active Volunteer Positions - Front Desk Assistants - S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fraser Service Center

We are one of the largest non-profit social service organizations in BC, providing services such as settlement, seniors and housing. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has evolved into a multicultural, multi-service agency assisting people at all stages of their Canadian experience.
 
The Immigrant Settlement & Integration Program (ISIP) helps immigrants and their families learn about Canada's systems and services. We offer opportunities for immigrants to develop English language skills, learn about Canada's labour market, develop professional and social networks, and settle into their local B.C. communities. ISIP services are for eligible immigrants, refugees and their families and are free of charge. Our services are offered in many languages. 

 

We are recruiting volunteers to support Front Desk reception at our Vancouver- Fraser Service Centre.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fraser Service Centre

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk support

  • greeting walk-in clients and visitors
  • answering phone, directing calls
  • helping clients register for workshops, classes or events
  • promoting programs and services
  • assisting Program Assistants with administrative tasks when needed

 

Time Commitment and Schedule:

4 hours per week, a minimum commitment of 3 months.

Shifts occur Monday-Friday between 9am and 5pm.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Intermediate Level of English or above
  • Intermediate Level or above of Mandarin and/or Cantonese 
  • 19 years or older
  • Must be willing to conduct a criminal record check
  • Customer service experience (preferred)

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Friendly and welcoming
  • Patient and a good listener

 

Orientation and Training Provided:

  • General orientation to S.U.C.C.E.S.S
  • Specific orientation to the volunteer position

Supervision:

  • This position will be supervised by a S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Program Assistant.
