Current Volunteer Openings - Mandarin and/or Cantonese Interpreter for Client Service Delivery (In-person and/or virtual)
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. BC Newcomer Services Program (BCNSP) is looking for volunteer interpreters who can speak Mandarin, and/or Cantonese to support in-person client appointments. BCNSP is a settlement service delivered by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to support temporary residents and naturalized citizens to settle and integrate into the community. By removing language barriers, BCNSP clients can integrate better into everyday life.

Work Location (Virtual and/or In-person):
RICHMOND SUCCESS Office 8171 Alexandra Rd #200, Richmond, BC V6X 1C3
Time Commitment and Schedule:
- Weekly (or semi-weekly, depending on volunteer availability)
- Morning Shifts or Afternoon Shifts
- Shifts can be any time, Mondays-Fridays 9am-5pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation for SUCCESS staff during in-person appointments with Mandarin and/or Cantonese clients
- Settlement information resources / Form-filling services (Cantonese/Mandarin)
Qualifications Required:
- Fluent in English (CLB level 9-12)
- Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
- Experience and/or education related to teaching or adult learning an asset
- Knowledge in local settlement resources and government benefits an asset (eg. OAS/GIS/CPP)
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
