Volunteer Position Title: Workshop Assistant

Work location: #200 - 5172 Kingsway, Burnaby BC  V5H 2E8

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helping staff set-up classroom for the workshop or session, and help with wrap-up
  • Take attendance, assist clients with intake forms before the workshop and direct clients to venue
  • Support the speaker and staff during the workshop as required
  • Distribute survey forms and handouts, collect forms after the workshop
  • Assist in survey response count and summary

Time Commitment and Schedule:  Minimum 3 hour requirement per shift

Date/Time of the Volunteer Shifts: Workshop schedules may vary by month. We require assistants for workshops held in different languages and at different times of day (morning, afternoon, and evening). Volunteers would be contacted a few weeks in advance to request their attendance and confirm availability. Please indicate your general availability and language skills upon applying.

Qualifications Required:

  • Intermediate level of English
  • Ability to speak another language is an asset
  • Criminal record check clearance (may take up to 4 weeks)
  • 19 years or older

  • General orientation to S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
  • Specific orientation to the workshop volunteer position
