Active Positions - Meal and Food Bank Delivery Driving Volunteer Needed! (Vancouver)

The Age Well at Home program helps seniors live in their homes independently and stay connected with their community by providing non-medical support services.

 

Meal Delivery

Meal Delivery volunteers help delivering meals to seniors who live alone or in need of nutritious meals. There are currently 2 routes alternating every Saturdays.  

 

Food Bank Delivery

Food Bank volunteers help providing weekly food bank deliveries to help seniors with food insecurity. Pick up at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank at 3454 Lougheed HWY and deliver to various seniors homes.

  

Work Location:  

  • Vancouver (Chinatown, Strathcona, East Vancouver, Hasting-Sunrise) 

  

Key Responsibilities:  

 
  • Attend any orientation and training as needed
  • Communicate with the Senior Services Coordinator as needed
  • Act on the agreed duties and schedules between you and your senior(s) that is mutually convenient and beneficial

  

Time Commitment and Schedule:   

  • Minimum of 6-month commitment is preferred
  • Schedule is based on volunteer availability
  • Looking for regular volunteers (FoodBank) and bi-monthly shift based volunteers (Meal Delivery)

  

Qualifications Required: 

  • Criminal Record Check Clearance 
  • Ability to speak English at a intermediate level
  • 19 years or older 
  • Drivers License and access to a car (mileage is reimbursed!)

  

Personal Traits/ Qualities Desired: 

  • Friendly and welcoming
  • Communicative and patient
  • Good boundary maintenance
  • A second language is an asset, but not a requirement

  

Orientation and Training Provided: 

  • General orientation to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and the position. 
  • On-the-job training

Supervision:
