Food Pantry - Food Rescue Truck Volunteer
A Second Harvest Food Rescue Truck Unloader Volunteer's job involves helping unload food from delivery and rescue truck, sorting/checking food, and preparing it for distribution. This role also includes assisting with cleaning the distribution site and ensuring the area is clean and organized.
Responsibilities:
- Unloading Trucks:
- Helping to unload food from delivery and rescue trucks, which may include lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Sorting and Organizing:
- Sorting food donations and checking quality, stocking tables, and organizing.
- Cleaning and Preparing:
- Assisting with cleaning the distribution site and preparing food for distribution.
- Food Safety:
- Adhering to food safety guidelines and ensuring proper handling of food items.
- Physical Requirements:
- This is an active role that may require being on your feet and lifting items up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications Required
- Background Check
- Age Category Must be at least 18 or older
- How much can you lift comfortably? Must be at least 20lbs
- Safe From Harm Training Must be at least Basic: Modules 1 - 4
