Food Pantry - Food Pantry Worker
A Food Pantry Volunteer assists with the daily operations of a food pantry, helping to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution of food and other resources to those in need. Volunteers may assist with unloading and storing donations, greeting clients, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with setup and takedown of food distribution areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unloading and Storing Donations: Help unload and store food and other donations, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Greeting Clients: Welcome clients and assist them with the food distribution process.
- Maintaining a Clean Environment: Help maintain a clean and organized pantry.
- Assisting with Setup and Breakdown: Help set up and break down for food distribution events.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and helpful service to clients.
- Inventory Management: Assist with restocking shelves and ensuring inventory is accurate.
Delivery: In some cases, assist with delivering food to clients cars up the stairs. - Safety: Ensure a safe environment for clients and volunteers, following safety protocols, according to The Salvation Army policy.
