Girlguiding Guildford - Leader / unit helper

 

Girlguiding Guildford Division caters for girls in four age ranges: Ranger (14+); Guides (10-14); Brownies (7-10); and Rainbows (5-7). They meet once a week in term time for various activities appropriate for the age range, including the opportunity to make friends, sing songs, make crafts, play games and learn about the world around us.  We have so many girls waiting to join that we need extra volunteers in all areas of Guildfod in order to keep running.

It provides opportunities for girls and young women to:      - Be challenged by new adventures and experiences and achieve a sense of pride in accomplishment. - Develop self-awareness, self-respect and self-confidence.          - Develop a personal faith and values to give life meaning and direction think for themselves, govern themselves and make their own decisions. - Make friends and have fun in the family of Guiding. - Develop a sense of tolerance, justice, kindness and honour learn teamwork and acquire leadership skills, working with and for others. - Appreciate the environment and how to live in it. - Understand and learn about the world.

What are we looking for?

Volunteers will need to enjoy working with children, be patient, a good listener and have a sense of fun. No qualifications or experience necessary. Training and support will be given. Volunteers must also be female.

Volunteers usually commit to a couple of hours per week mostly on weekday evenings during term time.
