Lodge Front Desk - Reception Desk (on call)
We are currently looking for casual, on-call volunteers to help cover the Reception Desk volunteer position when regular shifts open up due to vacations, illness or other occasional commitments.
There is both 1 daytime casual position and 1 evening casual position available.
Reception Desk volunteers assist and support lodge residents, guests and staff through a variety of activities involving reception, tours, craft sales, nearby services such as shopping, bus routes, etc.
Lodge Volunteers are generalists trained to assist in all facets of lodge operations.
Responsibilities can include:
Promotes a social and caring atmosphere in the Lodge, focusing attention and time on Lodge residents
Greets & provides tours for lodge residents, guests and visitors.
Answers lodge phone, transfers calls, takes & relays messages
Sets up and clears tea/coffee service, assisting residents as required.
Assists residents and visitors with selecting wigs and with tidying wig room
Assists with meal ticket sales by collecting and recording sales
Assists with craft sales, including displaying crafts and recording sales
Collects prescriptions from pharmacy if requested
Refers bookings for transportation, medical appts and Look Good Feel Better Program to staff member
Refers all calls or questions regarding a resident's medical condition or treatment to a staff member
Refers all financial questions to the Lodge Administrative Assistant or when she is not there to a staff member
Assists residents & Guests with using the lodge shuttle
Greets and assists volunteer drivers with finding their passengers
Does general tidying of common areas, including lounges and cafeteria
Assists with general office duties as requested
Assists with the watering and care of Lodge flowers and plants
Promotes Lodge and CCS activities, and support services.
Other duties as assigned and under the direction of staff member
