Villa Maria Schools classroom volunteers: main school (Dulaney Valley), Pre-Vocational Center, and Diagnostic School at SVV.

1. Villa Maria School (main school)

Villa Maria Schools provide educational and clinical services for children with significant emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. Classroom volunteers provide support via tutoring or helping with art and music. School is in session from 8:45 - 2:30 throughout the year.

2. Villa Maria Diagnostic School at St. Vincent's Villa

Students in the diagnostic classroom reside on the premises in the diagnostic unit at St. Vincent's Villa for 60 - 90 days. The size of the class varies between 10-15 children of various elementary and middle school grade levels. Volunteers assist the teacher and residential counselors engage the children in activities tailored to their academic and emotional goals. Class runs from 9am - noon on weekdays throughout the year.

3. Maura Pre-Vocational Center - HELP NEEDED!

Engage children with emotional and behavioral challenges in vocational learning activities. Villa Maria School is looking for individuals to help our Pre-Vocational Center teacher with classroom activities, such as cooking, woodworking, sewing, and nutritional projects – to name a few!

Classes to teach life skills to Villa Maria School children are held at the Maura Pre-Vocational Center. Join our pre-vocational teacher and other volunteer assistants in helping facilitate activities to prepare kids aged 5-14 with practical and career-related skills. Note: the Pre-Vocational Center serves Villa Maria School of Dulaney Valley (VMS – DV) in Timonium but is located on the Pot Spring Campus, about a mile away, adjacent to St. Vincent’s Villa.

Class is in session Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout the year. Can't make it on one of those days? Consider helping steward our vegetable and flower gardens.

Note: Schedule is approximate: volunteers may come for half-days, and each day's class schedule varies by semester.
