Fremont In-Person Volunteer Opportunities for Adults - Booklegger Volunteer
Do you love books? Want to inspire kids to read? If you’re looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity, consider becoming a Booklegger for the Fremont Main Library!
Bookleggers make magic! These trained volunteers learn storytelling and booktalking strategies that send students running in to the library for the books they hear about. Bookleggers visit 3rd-5th grade classrooms across the Fremont Unified School District to give presentations on books ranging from exciting adventures to suspenseful mysteries to eye-popping non-fiction.
The orientation will serve as an opportunity to meet current Bookleggers and hear why they love to volunteer, as well as gain information on volunteer and training requirements.
The orientation will be in-person at the Fremont Main Library: Wednesday, August 20th from 11:00am-12:00pm. Please click here to register so we know to expect you. After the orientation, there will be 4 mandatory training sessions which will be held in-person at the Fremont Main Library.
- Training Day 1: Wednesday, September 10th 11:00am-1:00pm
- Training Day 2: Wednesday, September 24th 11:00am-1:00pm
- Training Day 3: Wednesday, October 1st 11:00am-1:00pm
