Dublin Virtual Opportunities for Teens - Virtual Book Reviewer
Help your fellow teens find the best books by signing up to be a Virtual Volunteer. Virtual Volunteers provide reviews of the books they've read so that other teens can decide whether they want to read them. Whether it's a book you loved or one you couldn't stand, your thoughtful review can help guide reading habits of your peers and friends.
In order to receive volunteer credit for your book reviews as a Virtual Volunteer, you must meet the following requirements.
Requirements
- You must create an account on our library catalog page: https://aclibrary.bibliocommons.com/
- You must be 13 years old or older and
- You must be 17 years old or younger
Guidelines
- Book reviews you write must be between 200 - 500 words in length, written by you without the use of AI technology, and include some information about the book’s plot, as well as what you thought of the book/story/characters/setting etc. Your opinion is what makes this a review, not a book report.
- Book reviews can be submitted as online comments on the AC Library website, or as documents to be included in the Teen Review Binder, kept in the Dublin Library. Reviews for the binder must follow the guidelines included in the welcome email you receive when you sign up to be a Virtual Volunteer.
- Virtual Volunteers are limited to only 15 reviews per month for volunteer credit.
- If reviews are found to be written with AI technology, volunteers will be given a warning. Two warnings will result in the volunteer being banned from virtual volunteering.
You can find additional information about how to add a book review as a comment on the AC Library website here: https://help.bibliocommons.com/025ug/010comments/
