Programmatic - Program Assistant-- Game Zone

Game Zone is a program for teens 12-18, where they can play board and card games, play the Nintendo Switch, play some pool, or just hang out.

We are looking for an adult volunteer who can help us monitor this program for an hour or two. During the program the volunteer would:

  • Supervision of participants, especially younger participants, and ensuring that gaming equipment and board games are respected and used properly.
  • Counting how many participants attend each session and sharing this information with library staff for statistical purposes.
  • Communicating with library staff if additional program assistance is needed.
  • Helping participants and promoting a fun atmosphere.
  • Making sure everyone who wishes to play a video game gets a chance to do so.

Hillview Branch Library hosts Game Zone every Thursday from 2:00pm-4:00pm. We are looking to also begin hosting Game Zone every Monday from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

  • Gaining programming and supervising children experience

Volunteer Qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years old or older 
  • Must pass fingerprinting scan which we provide service for
  • Must be comfortable interacting with children and families

 

Qualifications Required

  • Age Must be at least 18+
  • Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
