Library - Biblioteca Latinoamericana Branch

Programmatic - Ukulele Class Assistant

The Ukulele Class Assistant helps the Ukulele Teacher with the Ukulele Class at the Biblioteca Latinoamericana. This includes helping set up the Community Room, turning the ukuleles before class, and cleaning up after class. This may also include organizing the ukulele music binders.

Learning a musical instrument can help students reach academic success and foster their ability to succeed in school.

Currently, we have a ukulele class for teens and tweens which takes place from 5:30 until 6:30 on Thursdays, except for the third Thursday of the month.  We can use an additional ukulele class assistant to help the teacher and to substitute for the teacher if the teacher and the other ukulele class assistant aren't available.

Requirements: ability to play the ukulele at the intermediate level or higher.

This volunteer position is for adults and teens ages 15 and older.  Fingerprint clearance is required for volunteers ages 18 or over.

If you have any questions about this volunteer position, please email Dawn at dawn.imada@sjlibrary.org
