Programmatic - Programming Assistant for Friday Family Game Zome

Program set-up and clean-up, including pushing the cart to and from the program area, preparing the space, and setting up the Nintendo Switch. 
Supervision of participants, especially younger participants, and ensuring that gaming equipment and board games are respected and used properly.
Counting how many participants attend each session and sharing this information with library staff for statistical purposes.
Communicating with library staff, if additional program assistance is needed 
Providing assistance and help to participants, and promoting a fun atmosphere.
Making sure everyone who wishes to play a video game gets a chance to do so. 

Must be able to commit 2 hours a week for at least 6 months
Enthusiasm for board games and video games
Must be comfortable interacting with children and families. 
Fingerprinting is required for all volunteers ages 18 and older.

Friday Schedule:
3:15 - 3:30 p.m. - set up
3:30 - 5:00 p.m. - program
5:00 - 5:15 p.m. - clean up and put items away, thanking participants for coming.  

Providing an opportunity for children to interact independently and/or cooperatively and to practice other social skills.

Qualifications Required

  • Age Must be at least 15+
  • Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
  • Skilled in basic internet, email, and Microsoft Office Must be Yes
