Library Services - Picture Book Organizer

Brief Summary of Activity: Help us tidy the Children's Picture Book Area on the second floor!
How You Will Make a Difference: The picture book collection is the largest collection in the Library.
Ensure that our picture books are correctly alphabetized by author's last name, duplicate picture books are shelved together, adequate spacing is available on each shelf, and shelving picture books, if needed.
Typical Day or Task: Sign in, pick up your volunteer lanyard, and take a cart up to the second floor to the picture book area.
You will display books on our acrylic shelves and shelves, based upon location of the books, and numbers of copies, and copies per author. Copies will be placed for visual aesthetics.
Shift shelves, using the cart to emphasize visual appeal.
If you have any time left in your shift, you are welcome to shelve picture books tagged as Volunteer.
Benefits: You will be helping to make the picture book collection visually appealing to children and parents, which will encourage reading!
Commitment or Schedule: Please be willing to commit to at least six months of volunteership.
We ask that you commit to at least one to two hours per week.
Qualifications: Volunteers 18 and over are welcome to apply. You will need to be fingerprinted.
