Library - Edenvale Branch

The Edenvale Branch Library, part of San Jose Public Library, located in South San Jose serves hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Of the wonderful patrons we serve, we often serve as a hub for vocational and career professionals in transition. To help assist them in their future career ventures, we are seeking a volunteer to provide drop-in assistance reviewing resumes and cover letters as needed to library visitors.

Your experience ideally will include familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, strong grammar skills, punctuation skills and advanced understanding and use of the English language.

A background in business, human resources, administration, language arts and/or education is helpful but not necessary. Bilingual skills are also helpful but not necessary. This is ****perfect**** for retirees who have previously worked in these fields. This is also perfect for Master's students in these fields. You will be providing this assistance on a 1-on-1 basis.

Volunteer requirements:

* Ages 18+ years

*Basic experience creating resumes

* Minimum 6-month commitment

* Available weekly at regularly scheduled times, 2 hour per week

* Willing to work with a variety of people. Background in job placement, human resources preferable, but not required.

Fingerprint clearance required.
