Introduction to Coding Teen Volunteer Assistant

Tasks will include:

  1. Setting up for the program.
  2. Working with Librarians and staff to perform specific jobs to benefit this program.
  3. Monitoring the area during the program.
  4. Create a fun space and assist the children (ages 5-10) with their coding projects when asked.
  5. Cleaning up after the program.

Commitment/Schedule

Teen volunteers are needed for this program series, which will be held on Wednesdays, beginning on April 30th. Volunteers can sign up for single or multiple shifts. 

Prospective volunteers should:

  • Be between 15-17 years old.
  • Have experience or interest in working with children.
  • Have experience or interest in coding.
  • Have excellent listening skills.
  • Have strong oral communication skills.
  • Be dependable, patient, and flexible.

 

Qualifications Required

  • Age Must be at least 15+
  • Online Orientation for On-site Volunteers Completed Must be Yes
  • Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
