Library Services - Seed Sorter

The Willow Glen Library is looking for a few volunteers to assist with packaging seeds for our Seed Library and assisting with collecting statistics on numbers of seed packets distributed.

Date & Time Commitment:

2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month from 4pm-5:30pm (1.5 hour shifts, twice a month)

Duties: Count seed packets on display, Replenish or replace seed packets, Document number of packets added and other related notes, and Sort seeds into packets under guidance of lead volunteer seed sorters.

The Willow Glen Seed Library offers free seeds to the community for growing in their home gardens. Seed libraries were created in response to climate change, loss of seed integrity, and to preserve genetic diversity. Seed libraries provide a resource of locally adapted seeds. By taking, donating, and returning seeds the community develops a sustainable food network.
