Friends of the Library - Friend of the Dr. Roberto Cruz - Alum Rock Library
The Friends of the Dr. Roberto Cruz-Alum Rock Branch Library is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that supports the library through advocacy, fundraising, and community programming. Members of this group also volunteer time to support literacy in the library and community at large.
Members are asked to participate in bi-monthly group meetings held on the last Tuesday of odd months at 5 p.m. These meetings include library and community updates as well as program planning and financial planning. Along with bi-monthly meetings, the Friends of the Library host quarterly used book sales to raise funds for the library.
The Friends of the Library are currently recruiting general members and several open board member roles. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to expand leadership skills and make a high-level impact on the local community.
Virtual meet-ups will be scheduled for Friends of the Alum Rock Branch Library to meet up and discuss current and on-going strategies for fundraising, community partnership, and program support.
