Programmatic - ESL Writing Instructor
Position Overview: Help enhance the library’s services to English language learners by implementing a volunteer-led English Writing Skills Course.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the library’s ESL Writing Skills Course
- Be familiar with general library/local adult education services, programs, & resources
- Suggest additional curriculum materials for English Writing Skills Course
Qualifications:
- Knowledge & experience in the field of English language learning & teaching
- Excellent oral communication & written skills
- Good interpersonal & leadership skills
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Internet, & E-mail
- Bilingual speaker a plus
- Strong work ethics
Commitment:
- 6 months minimum
- Instruct a 1-2 hour weekly course at the Seven Trees Library
- Prepare a basic lesson plan for each week
Training/Support Available:
- Assistance from a staff liaison to develop the course and provide ongoing support
- Training & support from staff about library, programs & services
- Library materials (i.e. printouts, guides, books, etc.), data, & technology
- Curriculum activity ideas & suggestions
