Programmatic - Facilitator of Board Games/Chess Program(s)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable volunteer to facilitate our Board Game and Chess Program at the Hillview Branch Library. This program aims to bring community members together to enjoy friendly competition, sharpen critical thinking skills, and foster connections through the love of board games and chess. As a facilitator, you will create a welcoming environment for participants of all ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and break down the designated game area, including arranging tables, chairs, and game materials.

Provide guidance and basic instructions on the rules of various board games and chess to participants.

Monitor game sessions to ensure fair play and resolve disputes or questions about rules as needed.

Maintain the library's board game and chess collection, reporting any damaged or missing items.
Qualifications:

18+ years old

Passion for board games, chess, or both, and familiarity with their rules.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Patience and the ability to work with participants of different ages and skill levels.

Reliable and committed to the schedule and role.
Schedule:
- Ideally, we would like this program to be host for at least one hour, one time a week.
- Day and time of the program will be dependent to the availability of the volunteer.
