Programmatic - Chess Club Facilitator

Brief Summary of Activity:  Help kids learn and discover through Chess!

How You Will Make a Difference:  Chess is an excellent activity to teach children logic and intuitive thinking.

Help students with academic success by learning this challenging game!

Typical Day or Task:  Sign in, pick up your volunteer lanyard, and chess sets.  Ask Staff to let you into the Community Room.

Ask a librarian for the key to the Community Room.

Benefits:  Students will be learning a challenging game that will develop skills that will help them academically as well as for leisure purposes.

Commitment or Schedule:  Please be willing to commit to at least six months of volunteership.  

Qualifications:  Volunteers 18 and over are welcome to apply.  You will need to be fingerprinted.  Volunteers 15-17 are also welcome to apply.

 

Chess Club at the Library-  We need volunteers to help set up the chess sets in the Library Community Room, assist during the hour, and clean up at the end.   Help local students reach academic success at the library!

Fingerprint clearance required for volunteers 18 or over.

 

Qualifications Required

  • Age Must be at least 13+
