Programmatic - Reading Tutors
The San José Public Library is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be Reading Tutors for our Reading Partners Program.
You will provide one-on-one reading support to students in kindergarten through 4th grade, helping them develop literacy skills
and confidence through engaging discussions and skill introduction. We offer training and onboarding sessions. All tutoring sessions
will be in-person sessions at Seven Trees Branch Library or Hillview Branch Library. Join us in making a difference in these children's literacy journeys!
Minimum Requirements:

Must pass a background check and clearance requirements.

Commit to two tutoring sessions per week, a total of 2.5 hours weekly
Responsibilities:

Conduct one-on-one reading sessions for students in grades 1 to 4 using the Reading Partners curriculum.

Attend all scheduled sessions consistently, including two meetings of one hour each per week.

Monitor and track student progress.

Build a positive relationship with your assigned student to create a supportive environment.
Weekly Schedule
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays,
Times: 4 - 5 P.M.

- Age Must be at least 15+
- Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
