Programmatic - Citizenship Class Volunteer

In need of a Spanish-speaker.

Position Overview: Help new Americans become citizens! Together, volunteers & library staff provide tools & knowledge needed to pass the citizenship exam. Sessions take place weekly. 

Volunteers Are Needed To: 

  • Help individuals prepare for the naturalization exam 
  • Have a general understanding of the citizenship process 
  • Work with library staff & other volunteers as a team 

Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge or experience with the naturalization process 
  • Respectful of individuals of multicultural & diverse socioeconomic backgrounds 
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills 
  • Strong work ethics

Commitment: 

  • 6 months minimum 
  • Attending 1 hour sessions every other Saturday at the Seven Trees Library 

Training/Support Available: 

  • Assistance & ongoing support from library staff throughout the program 
  • Training & support from library staff & USCIS 
  • Library materials (i.e. printouts, guides, etc.), data, & technology 

Fingerprint clearance required for volunteers 18 or over. 

Qualifications Required

  • Age Must be at least 18+
  • Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least High
  • Online Orientation for On-site Volunteers Completed Must be Yes
