Programmatic - Adult Class Instructor or Monitor
Serve as an adult instructor, or as a monitor in any one of a variety of teen-led library programs.
Examples include reading or math tutoring programs; arts, crafts, or sewing programs; game programs; language classes; or a variety of library events.
As Adult Monitor, you will be responsible for supporting the teens who will be leading the program and who are responsible for the program content and room setup. Your roles would include:
- notifying parents in case of problems or emergencies,
- assisting the teens if there are any behavioral or other issues that are disruptive to their program's success, and
- serving as a liaison between the teen volunteers and the library staff if there are any questions that have not been resolved before classes/programs begin, including checking to see that teen volunteers present are on an approved list to be volunteering for that particular program.
This supports the library's ability to offer more and a wider range of programs in the community room and study rooms that are otherwise not possible for library staff to have direct supervision.
This opportunity is open to adult volunteers 18 years of age and older. To apply, please fill out an online application. In your applicatiion, please indicate your availability and interests to help us consider possible placement.
Fingerprint clearance is required for all adult volunteers 18 or over.
- Age Must be at least 18+
