Summer Learning - 2025 Summer Learning Ambassador (Ages 13-17)

Library volunteers play a pivotal role in encouraging San José youth and families to take part in the Summer Learning program to avoid falling behind when they return to school. Your main goal is to connect with library users and explain the benefits of continued education during the summer.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Promote the Summer Learning program to customers in the library
- Explain how the Summer Learning program works and register participants
- Promote library activities and events
- Distribute prizes based upon registration and books/hours earned

- Summer Learning Volunteer Training Provided
Requirements:
- Age 13-17
- Enjoy working with people of all ages and cultures
- Possess good verbal communication skills
- Able to commit to a pre-arranged schedule
Commitment:
Willingness to volunteer at least once a week for the duration of the Summer Learning Program (June and July). Schedule is dependent on the availability of the volunteer.
Qualifications Required

- Online Orientation for On-site Volunteers Completed Must be Yes
- Summer Learning Ambassador Quiz Completed Must be Yes
