Digital skills means knowing how to use technology to: find information, communicate, create, and solve problems.

With SJPL's Digital Skill Building Pathways, you can help others learn and practice skills that are essential to living and working in the digital world.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Provide instruction consistent with the program format and provided curriculum
- Communicate regularly with staff about scheduling and program

Commitment/Schedule
Schedule is dependent on the availability of the volunteer. We are looking to start in January 2025. If start date changes, we will update accordingly.
- Lead lessons using curriculum from SJPL's Digital Skill Building Pathways.
- Time commitment: 2-4 hours per program (1-2 hours of training/prep, 1-2 hours of instruction.)
- SJPL encourages Bilingual volunteers to apply
Prospective volunteers should:
- Be comfortable with basic computers/tech
- Have experience or comfort with working with library patrons of varying ages, backgrounds and skill levels
- Review course materials prior to class meeting
- Complete a fingerprint background check, at no cost to you.
Qualifications Required
- Age Must be at least 18+
- Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
- Oral and written communication skills in Spanish Must be at least High
- Skilled in basic internet, email, and Microsoft Office Must be Yes
- Online Orientation for On-site Volunteers Completed Must be Yes
