Library Events & Programs - Select Service Event Volunteer

Are you friendly, outgoing, and do you enjoy setting up for events?
Select Service Event Volunteers play a critical role in ensuring that community members who book an event space at the library receive a premium quality experience. These volunteers supplement the work of our Events and Hospitality department.
Volunteers will help set up and tear down furniture for events that take place outside of typical library hours. This opportunity is to support a church group.
Volunteers will help:
- Set up and teardown. This includes moving tables, chairs, and heavy furniture.
- Greet event guests and direct them to their event space.
- Monitor the library entrance to ensure only event guests are entering the building.
The Events and Hospitality Staff will train and provide support and be present throughout the volunteer shift. We recommend that volunteers wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
First time volunteering for Douglas County Libraries? Please email Brenda MacIntosh to schedule a required new volunteer orientation before your first shift.
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 4 days in advance to allow us time to find another volunteer to fill this important spot.
Qualifications Required
- What is your age range? Must be at least 14 years or older
