The volunteer Birthday Party Storyteller creates a fun experience for our youngest DCL customers (ranging in age from 2-7 years old) celebrating their big day! These trained volunteers perform Storytime for our private DCL birthday party events on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The actual birthday party story time runs about 20 minutes and consists of reading one or two short children's books along with leading a song and fingerplay. With preparation time before each party, this activity lasts about an hour in total. Volunteers will select which birthday parties they would like to do the Storytime and at which locations.

Qualifications

• Phone and in-person screening
• Background check

Training:

• One hour Storytime training
• Shadow an experienced storyteller
