Highlands Ranch Library

Library Events & Programs - Coffee Chat Host Volunteer

Do you enjoy chatting, creating social connections and building relationships? Then we want you!

We are looking for one or two volunteers to help us host the wonderful weekly Coffee Chat group at the Highlands Ranch Library.  No advance training is necessary. Library staff members will show you how to help and will be present for support. Volunteers are needed to help with set up, and to help keep the conversation going by connecting with community members at the library's Tuesday morning Coffee Chats.  Attendees are typically retirees and adults who visit for coffee, games, and conversation. Many attendees are new to the community who would like to meet others.

This position requires:

  • Volunteers age 21+ who enjoy engaging with older adults.
  • Regular shift attendance: This is a weekly opportunity on Tuesday mornings from 8:30am-11am.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please reach out to Kim (link below.)  A Volunteer Services Coordinator will be in touch to schedule a brief discussion and new volunteer orientation. Training and support will be provided by a Customer Experience Librarian.

First time volunteering for Douglas County Libraries?

Please email Kim McClintock to schedule a required new volunteer orientation before your first shift.

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 4 days in advance to allow us time to find another volunteer to fill this important spot.
