Library Events & Programs - STEAM Jr. Book Club Monthly Volunteer
Do you enjoy Science? Do you enjoy working with children? Then the STEAM Jr. Book Club is the opportunity for you! We are looking for a volunteer assistant to help on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 4:30 - 6:15pm, so please sign up for as many shifts as possible. The volunteer will work with 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. DCL Staff will provide guidance throughout the duration of the program. Staff will briefly have a discussion about a selected book and then volunteers will help work with children on different science experiments. Volunteers will assist with set up and tear down and activities including (but not limited to) slime, rockets and cars!
If this is your first time volunteering with us, please email Kim at kmcclintock@dclibraries.org to schedule a time for a brief orientation.
IMPORTANT: You must apply to be a library volunteer and once accepted, log back into your volunteer profile to sign up for shifts.
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 4 days in advance to allow us time to find another volunteer to fill this important spot.
