Uniting Victoria and Tasmania - Volunteer Hub

Current Opportunities - Breezeway Community Meals Team Members - Ballarat Central

BreezeWay provides a substantial, hot nutritional two course midday meal every day of the year for people who are marginalised, homeless, living in insecure accommodation and / or have no cooking facilities. It operates from 10.30am to 1.00pm each day and serves approximately 60 meals daily. Take-away meals are also provided which include sandwiches and fruit outside the lunchtime meal. The cafe style environment is also a place of shelter during the winter months. But more than that, Breezeway provides a place to feel safe, to belong, and to connect. We aim for all people to feel welcomed and included in the community.

The Meals Program opened in January 1998 and has served over 250,000 meals. It grows and develops each year with increased demand and the introduction of specialist support services.

The Volunteer team assists with preparing and cooking food in the kitchen, cooking, serving, setting up chairs and tables, and cleaning. We're looking for motivated people committed to supporting the community. If you have an interest in food and cooking, and have a positive can-do attitude, we would like to hear from you.
