Uniting Victoria and Tasmania - Volunteer Hub

Business and social enterprises - Op Shop - Prahran

Uniting Op Shop volunteers know what it feels like to give back. Because it’s work that helps fund our vital programs and services right in your community.

You can find our opportunity shops in Bendigo, Ballarat, the Barwon area, Sale and in suburbs across Melbourne. The Glenroy opportunity shop dates back to the creation of the Uniting Church of Australia in 1977.

The shops provide opportunities for people to give back to their local communities and gain work experience through volunteering. Volunteers make up 93% of the op shop workforce and we are grateful for their ongoing contribution.

The shops raise funds for vital programs and services in their local community. In particular the local emergency relief programs are the main beneficiary of the op shop funds.

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, volunteering with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and Working With Children Check (in Victoria) and/or Working With Vulnerable People Check (in Tasmania) prior to commencement in any service or undertaking.
