Driving - Driver


Do you hold a full valid driving licence and enjoy driving? Would you like to help our unwanted pets find homes more quickly? Our busy centre is looking for a reliable volunteer to help us transport animals between our centres and hospitals and speed up the rehoming process

What you will be doing:

  • Driving a Blue Cross van or your own car
  • Transporting animals between centres and hospitals, foster homes and the vets
  • Moving animals in and out of the vehicle
  • Ensuring the welfare of the animals being transported

What we are looking for:

  • Full current driving licence
  • Confident driver
  • Regular commitment and reliability
  • Experience of handling animals
  • Ability to work in a team or alone
  • Willingness to learn and follow Blue Cross procedures
  • All our drivers will have a confidential driving licence check by a company called Intelligent Data Systems on behalf of Blue Cross

We're looking for someone with good weekday availability and experience of long distance motorway driving. 

Qualifications Required

  • Age group Must be at least 25 and older
  • Blue Cross vehicle training completed Must be at least Yes
  • Do you live within 45 minutes travelling time of a Blue Cross rehoming centre or hospital? Must be at least Yes
  • Induction training Must be at least Completed
