Pet Advisory Volunteer

Are you a confident approaching and talking to people? Are you keen to use your skills to help both people and pets? Our busy hospital is looking for reliable volunteers to help with he smooth running of our reception area by greeting clients and providing excellent customer care and advice to help promote pet ownership.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Greeting & talking to clients to the hospital
  • Keeping an eye on waiting times
  • Scanning and checking microchips
  • Registering new pets and booking appointments
  • Ensuring leaflets are stocked up and available

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Good face to face communication skills
  • Confident and approachable manner
  • Good computer skills
  • Regular commitment and reliability
  • Ability to work in a team or alone
  • Willingness to learn and follow Blue Cross procedures
  • Previous experience of dealing with the public and of owning animals is ideal

Time commitment: Days and times to be agreed. Slots available Mon- Sat. An on-going regular commitment preferred.

  • Age group Must be at least 18 and older
  • Induction training Must be at least Completed
  • Reception induction Must be at least Completed
