Volunteer Opportunity: Editing & Document Support – Life Stories & Dignity Therapy Programs
Help bring patients’ stories to life through your editing and IT skills.
Are you detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about supporting meaningful work behind the scenes? We are looking for a dedicated volunteer with strong editing and IT skills to assist in the creation of legacy documents for our Life Stories and Dignity Therapy programs.
These programs help palliative care patients reflect on their lives and create written legacies for their loved ones. Your role will be vital in ensuring that each story is beautifully presented, professionally formatted, and handled with the utmost care.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit, proofread, and format legacy documents
Add photos and apply consistent, clean layouts
Create and update document templates as needed
Print, prepare, and bind final legacy documents for patients and families
Provide support to other volunteers with formatting and editing as required
Be responsive to time-sensitive needs—some flexibility is required
Ideal Candidate:
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word and other Office Suite tools
Strong editing, proofreading, and document formatting skills
High attention to detail and visual presentation
Comfortable supporting others and working collaboratively
Sensitive to the emotional nature of the content and committed to maintaining patient dignity
Reliable, flexible, and able to work to timeframes aligned with patient needs
