Volunteer Opportunity in Women and Children Hospital Services

Are you passionate about enhancing the care and support options to our community accessing women and children’s services at University Hospital Geelong? We invite you to join our dedicated team as a volunteer in our Women and Children Volunteer Program. This rewarding and meaningful volunteer opportunity allows you to provide emotional, social, and recreational support to women, babies, children, teens, and their families.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Offer Compassionate Support: Provide emotional encouragement and a listening ear to individuals accessing women services, delivering holistic supports with clinical teams and families as you assist in supporting babies, children and teens in need. Fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment for our diverse community of all ages.
  • Engage in Social and Recreational Activities: Assist and deliver activities that promote joy, community, therapeutic support, procedure distraction and diverse well-being opportunities for patients, their dependents and family members.
  • Receive Comprehensive Training: Undergo thorough training and onboarding to ensure you are well-prepared and confident as your role will directly enhance patient comfort and care within our special care nursery, children’s ward, maternity and birth suite unit. (Note: Police Checks, Working With Children’s Check required)
  • Enjoy Ongoing Support: Benefit from continuous guidance and support from our team and clinical teams to ensure you feel comfortable and equipped throughout your volunteering journey at University Hospital Geelong.

Our program runs throughout the week during work hours, offering flexibility to accommodate various schedules. We are committed to creating a positive, supportive and rewarding experience for both our volunteers and those we serve.

If you’re enthusiastic about making a difference and want to be part of a compassionate team, we encourage you to express your interest in this fulfilling volunteer role. Apply today and help us support our women and children’s services in meaningful ways!
