Ceramics - Ceramics Class
The Cedar Hill Arts Centre houses one ceramics, one dance, and two visual arts studios. Volunteers support programming in the ceramics studio by assisting with studio-specific operations. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in community recreation, the arts, and ceramics.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with program set-up and clean-up
- Assist and follow direction of staff during program
- Provide guidance to program participants
- Clean the program area
- Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get messy and wet
- Log your volunteer hours online
Qualifications:
- 16 years old or older
- Friendly, responsible, flexible, and able to follow direction
- Proficient in English
- Willing to complete a background check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Prior experience with ceramics an asset, but not required
Commitment and Schedule:
Minimum of two hours per week with a commitment of at least eight weeks. Daytime and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends, depending on the studio schedule.
Working Conditions:
Indoors. Volunteers will be standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying short distances (up to 45lbs).

- Have an informal conversation with the Coordinator of Volunteers
- Complete a free background check and free online Child Protection training module
- Submit paperwork: Waiver, Code of Conduct, and (optional) Photo/Video Release
- Attend an onsite orientation
