Ceramics - Ceramics Class



The Cedar Hill Arts Centre houses one ceramics, one dance, and two visual arts studios. Volunteers support programming in the ceramics studio by assisting with studio-specific operations. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in community recreation, the arts, and ceramics.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with program set-up and clean-up
  • Assist and follow direction of staff during program
  • Provide guidance to program participants
  • Clean the program area
  • Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get messy and wet
  • Log your volunteer hours online

 Qualifications:

  • 16 years old or older
  • Friendly, responsible, flexible, and able to follow direction
  • Proficient in English
  • Willing to complete a background check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Prior experience with ceramics an asset, but not required

Commitment and Schedule:

Minimum of two hours per week with a commitment of at least eight weeks. Daytime and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends, depending on the studio schedule.

Working Conditions:

Indoors. Volunteers will be standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying short distances (up to 45lbs).

  • Have an informal conversation with the Coordinator of Volunteers
  • Complete a free background check and free online Child Protection training module
  • Submit paperwork: Waiver, Code of Conduct, and (optional) Photo/Video Release 
  • Attend an onsite orientation
