Housing - Housing Practicum Opportunity

Practicum:

1) Student will assist in the creation of a referral network of agencies that serve individuals with Special needs, as defined by the Missouri Housing Development Commission. The network will be a resource for property management to attract potential residents for 3010 Apartments and for current residents to locate necessary services. The student will work closely with the Divisional Social Services and property management.

 

2) Student will acquire an understanding of how low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) projects are developed by creating a Deal Book for all of The Salvation Army's current LIHTC properties in St. Louis. The student will work closely with the Divisional Assets Manager to complete this project.

3) Student will assist in the creation of a Midtown Housing Advisory Board for The Salvation Army's midtown projects. The objective of the Board will be to build capacity around the housing services offered, increase awareness of the availability of affordable Special Needs, Veteran, and Workforce housing in the midtown and downtown areas, and advise on innovative ways for residents to derive the greatest benefits within their community.
