St. Louis Regional Social Services - Midtown Clinic - Practicum / Internship Student
- Become knowledgeable on how to screen and assess level of care for potential clients seeking detox, residential, or outpatient treatment
- Become knowledgeable on The Salvation Army's Social Services intake process
- Facilitate life skills and substance use group education groups
- Co-facilitate group counseling groups
- Become knowledgeable on how to complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and documentation for collaborative services
- Learn effective counseling interventions/techniques and observe individual counseling in practice
- Learn various community resources and assist with coordination of collaborative services: employment, housing, food pantries, etc.
- Learn re-engage techniques and assist with re-engaging inactive clients in treatment services
- Gain skills to work in a team setting
This position is open to any level degree - Associate, Bachelor, or Master - in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Phychology, Counseling, or other related field.

* Note - a face to face interview and a background check will be required. Completion of the Family Care Safety Registry form must also be submitted. Safe From Harm training will be required before or at the beginning of the practicum assignment.
