St. Louis Gateway Citadel

Youth Programs - Music School

We're seeking passionate volunteers to share their love of music and the arts with young minds! If you have expertise in playing instruments, singing, dancing, or visual arts, we invite you to join us in inspiring the next generation through the Salvation Army's music program.

A Music Instructor is one who commits his time and attention to one or more children who would like to learn to play a brass or percussion instrument.

Instructors should meet weekly with students at established times, evaluating their playing, giving assignments and studies to enhance their abilities as a musician.

Above all, the instructor should set an example of what a musician is for young students, in accordance with Christian beliefs.
