Booth House - Program Monitor

All shifts are awake positions and the person will be working alone and will be responsible for medication administration. The person will report to the Program Administrator.

 

 

Position Summary:  This position maintains shelter security and provides general assistance to guests and residents in the shelter.  The following is a brief summary of the duties that the Program Monitor will be performing.

 

  1. Assure safety of residents in both Houses and on grounds by actively observing the cameras, people and happenings in and around the shelter and grounds. 
  2. Consistently enforce shelter policies, procedures and guidelines. Contacting the Program Administrator when dealing with crisis situations or challenging client issues.
  3. Intervene when appropriate to resolve problems between residents.
  4. Update and maintain current daily client roster and report to Lead Monitor
  5. Conduct bed checks in both Houses and periodically throughout the shift and a security pass-through at the front office.
  6. Answer incoming telephone calls and take messages as necessary.

7.       Ensure resident chores are completed. Keep front office area clean.

  1. Check on residents in both Houses to ensure that residents are awake by 9am weekdays
  2. Maintain confidentiality, proper client and staff boundaries and comply with Salvation Army Safe from Harm guidelines.
  3. Responsible for preparing and serving meals at designated times and completing the meal count. This to include light food prep and heating and serving meals at lunch and dinner, Also serving breakfast as well. Also monitoring resident activity during meals where volunteers are serving and ensuring the security of the building while residents are dining in the Corp area. 
  4. Ensuring that residents take medication and following medication administration procedures at the shelter and appropriately documenting medication passes.
  5. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors. 

 (2nd Shift 3pm to 11pm Monday through Friday)

                            (3rd Shift 10pm to 8am Monday through Friday)

          (Shift 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am, Saturdays and/or Sundays)  

*Volunteer not required to cover every shift. Please only select the days and times you are available.*
